King Olav V Cup - June 21 - 22, 2003
The conditions ranged from dead calm to huge thunderstorms, driving rain, and lightning strikes within a few miles of the course. Hank Thayer and the crew on Capriccio showed their dominance the first day in tricky conditions with 2 bullets. The second day saw 2 different winners and much more consistent conditions - 10-12 knots and steady all day. US 123 Haute Flash served notice with a win in the third race and US 73 Saga showed everyone how to do a port tack start at the pin in the final race and held the lead wire to wire. With a throw out, the Capriccio boys won by a point.
