The Swallow Syndicate from Seawanhaka commissioned the design and construction of the boat for the 1934 season and she was designed to take full advantage of the new version of the Rule. The syndicate was headed by J. Seward Johnson and Philip Roosevelt. Johnson took the the boat to the Spring races in Bermuda in 1935. Swallow is in Lloyds Register of American Yachts in 1937 and 1939 still registered under Johnson's name with a homeport of Oyster Bay, NY. The 1948 and 1951 Lloyds has her with Frederick Fish with a homeport of City Island, NY. At some point after her last survey in September 1953 she was expunged from the Class, which probably means she simply did not get measured after that time. In the late 1950s/early 1960s, Swallow (US63) was based at the Youngstown Yacht Club (YYC) in Youngstown, New York, on Lake Ontario. She was owned, sailed and raced by Robert “Bob” Willet and recorded that she performed well in heavy weather. Willet sold Swallow to Robert Murray, and he moved her to the Buffalo Canoe Club (near Crystal Beach, Ontario) on the Canadian shore of Lake Erie. She was the only Six Metre at the club and Murray had a small cuddy cabin added.
