Conditions were in the 5 knot range for the first day of the Six Meter North Americans. Perfect for Six Meter racing. 4 races were held in the NE breeze with the tricky tide and wind conditions Port Madison is known for. Nine boats in three equal divisions were competing with the Unlimiteds and Classics in the top spots.
Dinner Saturday night was hosted by Erin Parker with salmon and BBQ. The Port Madison Yacht Club graciously allowed the 6mR Fleet use of the facilities and held their Summer Solstice pot luck concurrently where it was announced that PMYC Commodore Haley Lamon and the "Race Like a Girl" Team aboard a Melges 32 was in the lead of the Race to Alaska "R2AK" with 38 miles to go. Later that night they won.
Sunday conditions were up to 8 knots from the East. Three additional races concluded the series. Reigh North and the Unlimited St Francis IX were unstoppable. Close on their heels were the well sailed classics Saga sailed by Chris Henderson and crew and Rule 2 Saskia II sailed by Don Martin and crew. The Canadian St. Francis IX wins overall with the remarkable American Saga 2nd and the winner of the Olin Stephens Cup for Classics. The American St. Francis V sailed by Dave Linger and crew was the top transitional.
